Official Opening of new Clubhouse: Saturday 7th August 1.00pm.
The Committee has invited the Onchan District Commissioners to send a representative to officially open our new Club premises. We will have a simple ribbon cutting ceremony and various fun and fundraising events will take place throughout the day. We also intend to play the Commissioners Triples competition on this day.
We aim to start proceedings around 1.00pm and we hope to firm up the details on when we will start the competition after discussions with the Commissioners, who normally put up individual trophies for this competition.
Any ideas from members would be appreciated and we will put a list on the notice board requesting volunteers to help with the event. Initially we could have a finger buffet and refreshments but its down to the membership as to what they want. We will bring up the target mat and also have a traditional “spider” type event where everyone stands all round the green and attempts to get nearest the jack. We could have a raffle and we could use the dartboard for various games and fundraising, nearest the bull, highest score with 3 darts etc. That’s just a few ideas get your thinking caps on!
We encourage all members to try and make room in their diaries to enable them to attend this important event for our Club. Any contribution you can make in time and effort would be greatly appreciated. Lets all pull together to make this event a great success.
