Match Reports 28th July
The Tartan Terrors wrapped up the manx2.com Pairs League on Tuesday night with a game to spare, but all was still to play for in an exciting battle for runner up on Wednesday evening. The Pink Ladies, in second spot, had to match or better the result of third placed Kestrels to retain second place.
The Ladies, Joyce Ogden and Lesley Keenan had a difficult match against the Likely Lads, while Ken Edwards and Alistair Irving of the Kestrels faced United. The Pink Ladies could not produce the consistent form that they had showed throughout the season and lost both sets to finish third in the table. The Kestrels just did enough to win the tie break and take the points they needed to finish in second spot. Well done Alistair Irving and Ken Edwards.
The Clerics finished their season on a high, winning against Willdo, an excellent first season for Stewart Stevenson and Paul Dougherty. Phil Smith and Flo Price also ended their season on a high taking the scalps of the league winners in the tie break.
Congratulations to Tom Keenan and Stephen McIntyre of the Tartan Terrors in winning the first ever manx2.com Pairs League. Thanks also to all the competitors who made the competition so exciting and successful.
